Sculptures by John Toki

Now showing in the Art Foundry Gallery.

The Art Foundry Gallery is an upscale venue in the heart of an historic warehouse district that’s quickly becoming one of Sacramento’s premier art-oriented corridors.

The gallery has won a regional reputation for showing exciting new, contemporary paintings and sculptures from accomplished artists such as Gregory Kondos, John Battenberg, Peter Vandenberg, Shray, Salvatore Pecoraro, David Middlebrook, Nathan Oliveira and Peter Voulkos among many others.ART FOUNDRY GALLERY

Unlike most galleries, the Art Foundry is a lively place with performance art, music and meetings taking place amid art exhibitions that elicit critical acclaim. The main gallery has more than 2,300 square- feet of exhibition space while the Loft gallery offers a more intimate setting. Throughout the year, community groups and businesses use the gallery spaces to host events.

Taking advantage of activity in the adjacent foundry, some guests to the gallery even get a live demonstration of a 2,200-degree Fahrenheit bronze “pour.”

Shows change on a monthly basis and cover the spectrum of the arts. Naturally, in paART FOUNDRY GALLERYrtnership with the Bronze Foundry, a number of sculptures and enamels are usually on display. Now Showing

But, the Gallery also features artists such as the ground-breaking ceramics of the late-Antonio Prieto and other work from members of his family; the bold contemporary landscapes of Gregory Kondos; Zibgniev Kozikowski’s colorful urbanscapes; David Ogles masterful monotypes and works of the multi-gifted Masatoyo Kishi.

The force behind the Art Foundry Gallery is Alan Osborne, a dynamic bronze sculptor and master patineur. Under his guidance, the gallery has grown in scope and reputation.

Osborne has embraced the burgeoning warehouse district just blocks from the State Capitol, envisioning a lively live-work arts community that’s alive with arts education programs, shows, and demonstrations.

The Foundry and its Gallery participate in monthly “Second Saturdays” when dozens of Sacramento galleries host artists’ openings complete with light appetizers and wine.

At the Art Foundry, they get yet another treat when molten metal is poured into waiting molds, and, once cooled, broken open to reveal a new bronze work of art.

The bronze-pouring demos are a Second Saturday destination as are the monotype demonstrations held in the upper loft.

The staff of the Art Foundry Gallery enthusiastically supports the arts and welcomes people to browse in the gallery, ask questions and engage in lively conversation
